Either phone them back or book a gp appointment explaining your situation x

thank you x

Your health visitor gave bad advice, a high street optician is not the right place to take an infant. You need to ask your GP for a referral to the eye clinic at your local hospital

Okay thank you x

We went through the GP to get a referral. It took a year for her to finally be seen at the hospital though

Any optician can see any age, but they won’t be able to do tests properly and so would just refer to the hospital, so the outcome would be the same if you get referred by a GP or opticians. Probably easier to get referred by the GP as they already have your baby on the records, unless it’s difficult to get in to see them

Yeah this is the wrong advice! Your GP should be referring to the eye clinic at the hospital, which is where I went as a kid (I had a squint) my son was also under the care of the hospital until he was about 3

Hi we have been through the same, go into specsavers or vision express and they will refer you to the hospital (quicker than GP) my daughter got seen for within 2months and was presribed glasses after all the eye test

Lovely thanks ladies will ring up on Monday for GP X
