Crying baby... I know they cry but..

My 8 week old, already restless, colicky and very unhappy most of the day, has recently started waking very upset in the morning, and even feeding her doesn't calm her down. She screams as if she's in pain, keeps coming off the breast, similarly to what she does with the evening bottles. I think her crying is getting worse and more frequent, so much that I'm not able to read to her, practice tummy time or any other developmental play... what do you think. Gp dismissed my concerns with "it's just colic" but I'm worried for her development. She also rarely sleeps during the day. At wits end

Sounds very similar to what my little boy was like at that age. Is your baby just having breast milk? It maybe worth trying to wind her more or doing little massage on her tummy before and after feeding to help move things along internally. Also if she’s breastfed, it could be possible that she may have an allergy to something unknown yet which is passing in the milk to her. I’d definitely push the doctors or get a second option. You know your baby better than anyone so don’t let them fob you off! X

@Jess she's on 80% breast milk but has a couple of formula bottles overnight. What helped your boy back then? Also when did things start improving?

Have you tried using gas drops? I use Little Remedies gas drops and they help when my baby is really gassy. Also lots of tummy massages and leg bicycles help with the pooping and has gas release. If baby still feels uncomfortable call your pediatrician and say it’s not just colic and would like to get seen. Also for colic babies, maybe a probiotic can also help with colic. Baby Friday has a fart freeing essential kit that someone recommended and I got it just in case my baby ever needs it, reviews on it says it really works, maybe try these things and see if it helps, if not, definitely go to pediatrician.

@Yuliana Mayoya yeah we tried colic drops for one week and didn't make any difference. We do lots of bicycles and massages. Haven't tried the probiotics but that's the next thing I could try I guess.. in the UK we go to pediatrician only via gp referral and privately it's very expensive but I'll go if that's the only way I get listened to

Try the probiotics and maybe the Baby Frida fart freeing essentials, if that doesn’t work, then yes definitely make your pediatrician listen! Or do the private one if needed❤️ Good luck!
