So anxious - does this look like progression?

I am 12DPO today and first tested positive on Thursday when I was 10DPO 1st pic is: - very top 9DPO - top of group 10DPO FMU - 10DPO 2nd MU - 11DPO FMU - 11DPO afternoon - 12DPO (today) - lighter of the 2 tests taken at same time However in my next pic I have a 2nd test I took today with the same urine and I think that looks darker despite being the same brand. Why so much variation? And which do I believe? Also added a clearblue comparison of yesterday FMU vs today. My clearblue on Thursday afternoon was darker I think :( Very worried this is not a viable pregnancy. I am having an awful lot of cramping

Ok so testing like this will drive you mad. If you want to look for progression there's a few things you need to change. You can only compare same brand/type tests. You can only compare tests that are fresh so you have to take a picture in the time frame, and then discard. Then you have the pictures to compare, you cannot evaluate one test in the time frame and one test that's 3 days old. You can only compare tests 2 days apart, since that's how long it takes Hcg to double that's how long you can expect to see a change in the line. Best of luck.

I’ve been taking photos within timeframe @Charley but I am finding it difficult to compare. I think I should just assume it likely isn’t going to progress.

If you've got photos within the time frame for each test then post them, as we can't look for progression with the old ones laid out like this. There's no reason to assume it won't progress. 12 dpo is still early, you've only been testing for 3 days. Technically you should only have 2 tests to be able to compare if you're sticking to every 48 hours. I just think you need to test less often so that you can see the progression otherwise you'll go mad

HCG doubles every 48 hrs so don’t test every single day twice a day… you’ll stress yourself out and that can cause a mc. Also the 11 dpo one looked exactly like my 11dpo. And mine is now 2 months old

@Gabrielle Thank you! I’ll do my best to calm down

Trust me I get it!!! I had a mc the month before my positive stuck. It’s hard to not constantly test. I tested at 9 and got a negative, 11(vvvfl), 12 went to er to get blood HCG, and then I tested again on 15. Just try to focus on other things, and think positively. I know it’s harder to do it than say it but you got this!!

As said above, test once in 48hrs for your sanity and progress 🤗🤗🙏🏼🙏🏼🙌🏼 It will happen! I did a test every 2 days for about 20 days. Saved all of them until today (now 36 weeks) ❤️ Good luck mama

@Gabi congrats!!! Also I’m so glad I found another Gabi!!! It’s so hard finding people that spell it like that!!!

@Gabrielle Thank you!! I won’t test until tomorrow afternoon/monday morning

@Gabrielle Thank you! Yes true, on our October mums group there is another Gabi 🤗😀😀 I see you live in Hawaii! I wish!!!!! Friend of mine just moved out after 3yrs as her hubs is in military, they're in Kansas now and moving back to Hawaii or Alaska next yr hopefully 🙌🏼

@Gabi were also military and came from KS!!! We moved in April! Hawaii is literally a dream!! I’m so in love with it

@Holly Thank you, I’m so sorry about your miscarriage

It sounds like you have a lot of anxiety surrounding testing/your pregnancy progressing. I get it, and I’m sure a lotttt of people in this group also get it. I have been in your position and I know how hard it is. After doing this a year ago and now looking at my perfectly healthy twins, I promise you it’s not worth it. If you wanna test for peace of mind use the same brand, once a day at the most with FMU (better to do every 48 hours). You won’t see line progression over a few hours, and it’ll just end up validating your worst fears. I hope you have a sticky baby, but try not to drive yourself insane with the tests. Go get blood work and repeat in 48 hours if you have a history of loss. That gave me a ton of peace of mind. 🩵🩵

I know it’s all easier said than done. Distraction also helps. Take care of yourself 🩵🩵

@Hannah Thank you! If it’s an early loss where I haven’t seen a midwife can I still get blood taken?

@Ali Thank you! Yours seemed to get darker quicker than mine has! How many DPO were you when you first tested positive

I was really early, but that’s not normal for me at all. My earliest was I believe 8dpo. But I have also not even got a positive till 17dpo before. Mine also got dark quick because my HCG was increasing more than double every 48 hours when I did the blood tests. Sometimes people don’t even double every 48 hours. Also, not everyone has best tests with fmu. Most people do. But for me I have to test at night. When I test in the morning in early pregnancy it is lighter than the night before. When testing just try to test with the same tests and about the same time of day.

I just wouldn’t test mate. These strips are made for detection and not comparison so unless you space them out more, you aren’t going to get the reassurance you are looking for. You have no reason to think this isn’t viable but if you are genuinely concerned you can ask your gp for beta HCG with 48hr follow up. This confirms pregnancy and that it is in a promising state which might settle your feelings for now. All the best xx

@Yog Thank you! It’s so difficult :( I don’t know if my GPs would do beta HCG but I’ve thought about ordering a private test

Most OB’s office would check for you if you call and say “I have had a previous miscarriage and I’d like to check my blood levels to make sure things are progressing.” They just have the nurse draw blood 48 hours apart and call you with results. I’m not sure if midwives do the same, but it’s worth asking if you don’t have access to an obgyn office.

@Hannah I think OP is in the UK from her previous comments so it's not something that is readily available

@Charley you can mention you are unsure about your urine test results and would they mind checking with bloods and they are pretty good in my experience. Fingers crossed for the OP. Let us know how you get on xx

@Yog my gp would not do blood tests and neither would the fertility clinic where I had IVF. Its definitely not readily available as a standard procedure, but some people have had GPs agree to it yes.

@Charley sorry to hear that Charley, I’ve had great support in several locations so I hope there are more supportive places than the opposite. It’s a pain having to sort private testing isn’t it!

These are like 13dpo looking at when you posted? They look great to me! Let us know how your bloods go xx
