Post birth monitoring/treatment

Hello currently 37+ 4 and baby diagnosed with mild/moderate bilateral hydronephrosis. Just wondering what others in a similar position had post birth in terms of tests and monitoring? They keep moving the goal posts - first it was wait and see, then antibiotics and now he has to stay in for 48 hours of monitoring and tests (no information has changed during this time just appears to be opinions of different departments).
