@Louisa yeahh I get that I suppose, I just thought maybe when they were checking the placenta they would have even shown me or even spoke to me abit about my baby even for a few seconds, but there was literally nothing xx
If all the request said was placental location that’s all they would’ve done. Scans to check baby need longer appointments. If you were otherwise low risk the midwife assesses everything else. The only way you’d get another scan now is if the midwife had concerns or you paid privately
Unless you're having specific growth scans then no, they wouldn't check the baby. I had growth scans with my girl so I got to see her every 3 weeks from 28weeks, but with my others I only had 2 scans.
They will check what position baby is in at your midwife appointments as they’ll just feel your belly
I had a placenta scan recently and they checked over the baby too, I think it seems weird they didn’t at yours
Were you meant to have a growth scan? Not everyone gets a scan past 20 weeks
yeah i totally understand, i would of been disappointed too, i want sure if we would get to see him during it but i hoped we would since they were already doing one!
It is very normal to not get to see baby after the 20 week scan, with most people only getting a 12 + 20 week scan unless there’s concern. However totally get why you are disappointed, i got to see our baby at my 33 week placenta scan, the lady checked his blood flow via cord and his size. I think it maybe just differs between trusts x
