YES! we’ve had this happening for the last 6 weeks or so. He used to loveeeee bath time and climb up the stairs “baa baa” (for bath) all excited. When we started swimming more, it was easier to have him hop in the downstairs shower and he loved it. He’d hold the shower wand and stray himself or us or the wall and squeal with delight. Then one day, it was like a switch flipped. And he screamed bloody murder. Like he was being tortured. And yelling “no more no more no more” and hiding in the corner. Of course I immediately turned off the water. It wasn’t a temperature thing, because the next day I got him in the shower with clothes on and no water to show him the shower wand again…. He just went into shock and panic and screaming when I got the wand down. It’s baffling. So we went back to bathes, but now he’ll stand and refuse to sit (scared screaming if I help him sit). I’m lucky if he’s in there for 2 mins. I was so grateful I managed to wash his hair last time. What is going on?? 🤦♀️
Yeah mine gets really annoyed at hair washing now and wasn't that bad before not sure if maybe a phase but we also haven't taken her to swimming in a while and she loves that, so maybe need to get back to it
Mine (who LOVES all water) went through a weird phase just for maybe a month. She screamed like she was being tortured if I tried to give her a bath or shower, I even tried to take a shower or bath with her just to get her clean and it was a nightmare 😂 and then just as suddenly as that started, it stopped and she loves baths again.
My son is 3. Adores baths and showers. He refuses showers now unless he is swimming and just wants a bath. He sometimes makes a fuss about going in, but he's now more aware that bathtime means bedtime comes next. He wants to keep playing. Even though this sounds like your little ones are slightly younger. My son really fusses at getting his hair washed now, so I've got to be quick. Maybe try letting them turn taps on themselves? Let them choose their pj's, etc? Try some new bath toys. Make a game out of it. They are all just phases, though xx
Mine did this but with baths and she was still a fish in the pool. My LO has always been scared of showers but used to love baths and would want to stay there all day then she started screaming bloody murder in the bath and hated being washed. I ended up adding some kids bath bombs and music and now she loves them again

@Ruth my guy is almos 2 so a little younger but I think I’ll give new bath toys a try. And considering a buzz cut if the hair wash refusal continues.
Mine did this and it was for a short period of time around 18 months ish. I honestly have no idea what changed but it did. We did have her in swim and I think that helped because she loves the pool so we had her “swim like a fish!” And tried to make it fun in every way. We also realized she didn’t like running water until honestly recently. The running water, shower, it scared her for some reason but still water was good. Maybe just a phase but could try some new water toys? Or a bath book?
