Postpartum anxiety - anyone else?

My baby is a week old and I find myself constantly worrying about their wellbeing, checking breathing every few minutes and just being generally anxious. Even when the baby is sleeping safely in the cot, I still worry about potential reflux/vomiting/breathing etc. I’ve heard of the owlet sock but I’ve read lots of comments about it giving false alarms, so I want to avoid it in order to avoid making myself more paranoid. Any other new mums dealing with anxiety, and any tips/advice to make this a little easier? Thank you in advance xx

Hey, I have the sock. I used it with my first and now using it with my baby girl. With my son it gave one false reading when his foot was cold and set the alarm off. With my girl it has given us two low readings but she seemed fine in herself so I just watched her a bit more closely that day. If you get it you just have to set boundaries and not check it often. For me it’s just a bit of peace of mind. X

@Charlotte really considering buying one 🥺 where did you buy it from? Xx

Amazon. It’s prime day soon if you can hold off. X

Hi I am the exactly the same my baby is 2 weeks and have considered buying the shock but read the reviews then was put off🤦🏼‍♀️. Does the anxiety get better?x

Anxiety DEFO gets better. I watched my baby sleep for the first few weeks and then just became confident in them and trusted me and them more xx

Following this! I'm the same, absolutely terrified to look away in case something happens x

Thanks ladies, I really do hope it gets better. I only manage to get some sleep when my partner is up and watching the baby, otherwise I simply can’t. Xx

has it gotten better at any point? i’m 5 days pp snd just breaking down into tears because of the anxiety aswell as hormones. i can’t sit down away from them for longer than five minutes.

@Summer-Rose here to say it gets better! I still worry and check in on him regularly if he is asleep but not constantly. I can leave the room for 5mins and not worry ❤️

@Summer-Rose hi love. I’m 6 weeks PP now and although i still worry a lot and I check the baby regularly, my anxiety has slightly decreased which is good. I can only hope it will keep getting easier. The first few weeks were difficult for my anxiety but it gets a little better, day by day. You’ve got this, I promise 🩷 xx
