Wrong gender?

Has anyone ever been told the wrong gender during scans and it turned out to be the complete opposite at birth? I just got told I’m having a boy but I’m still convinced it’s a girl😭

How many weeks are you

Blood tests are 99% positive. Any gender given after the 20 week mark is 87% correct usually. It's not unheard of, it's still rare

My sister in law was told she was having a girl due in the October. My nephew Jack decided he wanted to be born in August 😂

@Laurel 20 weeks x

I had a gender scan at 15+5 and it was correct. Confirmed at 20 week scan

Not personally but the last baby I delivered before I finished with my daughter was baby Penelope….who as daddy cut the cord was in fact baby Freddie! (My first and only in 12 years of midwifery)

At that point it’s usually pretty accurate but if the umbilical cord is there or something it could potentially be wrong but not super likely

My auntie got told she was having a girl, they had all of the routine scans but also additionally paid for private ones along the way. The nursery was pink with love heart plug sockets and they had prepared themselves for a little girl, all throughout the pregnancy my grandad has a feeling that it was a baby boy. My cousin Oliver was born in June 😂 Apparently it was due to his positioning at the appointments!
