The scans can be +-20% in each direction. While this could be something, it could also be nothing. Here are some posts from thegreenmidwife who I think is a great source of info, she works for the nhs in Stockport too haha https://www.instagram.com/p/Cxzpv1JgUQE/?igsh=MTM1cHVlNXp5MnNxbQ== https://www.instagram.com/p/CwLYncvNP7O/?igsh=MWFmM2JhZXh3c2FjYg== I’m sure she does 1-1 meetings if you’d like a second opinion. Hope this helps love x

Remember they are measuring you not your baby! It is very rare that accelerated bump growth reflects baby size. Don’t worry about it!

@Becca thank you xx i’m panicking a bit tbh but if he will be around that weigh i’ll go for C section 🥴 now i’m waiting for hospital to call me🫠🫠

Me again! I didnt see this was the fundal measurement. These can increase if you’ve had a big meal or slow digestion too x or jump if baby has moved position x

Yes! My midwife measured me in the 95th percentile so I was panicking about a big baby and a c section, but the growth scan showed him to be in 50th percentile and when he was born he was only on the 25th! Don’t worry until you’ve had a growth scan ☺️ good luck!!

Same happened with me! I quite enjoyed the growth scans as I got to see baby more ☺️ they picked up my bump was also big because I was carrying a little extra fluid so they did a blood test for gestational diabetes just in case (can be linked) but all was fine. Baby was measuring 99th percentile at scans and was born 8lb 3 at 38 weeks x

I had the same thing and asked to be induced at 39 weeks. Had my little boy last week at 9lbs 2oz

Yup. I've had it for the other reason. Bump "hadn't grown". Turns out baby was above average, not small. Then measured again and measurement said I'd apparently grown 5cm in 4 days.... Then back again a week later and the extra 5cm was gone🤨. Bump measurements are literally just the most basic of guide and the scan is there just to check that. Then scans can be off too but at this stage, don't worry at all. Take it as an extra opportunity to see baby! If it helps they told me from bump baby might have been small. She's measuring 50th on bump measurements and 65th on scan measurements. So not small at all.

My first was ‘measuring big’ and he came out at 6lb10 at 39+1, my second (now 4 week) was ‘measuring small’ and came out at 38+2 at 7lb so neither were right at all, try not to stress xx

I had this! I went to the hospital for a scan and they said baby had gone from normal to a 8lb baby! I was induced 4 days later and baby was 10lb! 😂

I went for my growth scan at 35+2 and they said he was 7lb13oz . They said my placenta didn’t seem to be working properly and told me to go home and they would call me 2 days later after a meeting about what to do, they called 2 days later and I had to go in and have him he came out at 7lb 3oz he was the biggest premi baby in the neonatal unit

Hey! I had several growth scans throughout my pregnancy. All were predicted a big baby. I refused c section and she was born 39+2 at a tiny 6lb! They can be wrong xx

Thank you very much for sharing your experiences ladies xx they booked me for tomorrow xx

@Dela wishing you all the best for tomorrow xx
