Tests help

I have started to miscarry at 5weeks 3 days and have been bleeding for about 3 days now. No clots just blood and pain. I’m tracking tests to make sure my hcg is declining but the bottom is today’s test? I’ve had a sickness bug so I’m assuming being dehydrated may make the tests look like my hcg is increasing until a few days time?

That’s a very strong test! Were they declining before this?

Well the one above is yesterdays so it looks stronger than yesterdays but the day I started to miscarry I got a 3+ on digital and also a stronger positive than when I first found out🙃

Sometimes when people misscarry the body doesn't fully get all of it ,so your urine will make the tests look darker but the pregnancy isn't actually progressing,it's called a missed miscarriage,in a normal misscarrige the body recognises this and HCG goes down and you start to bleed ,that what I experienced, but in a missed one the body will continue to grow an non viable pregnancy as it hasn't recognised that there is an issue yet ...but the doctors would know at this point as of growth and measuring ,unless someone had a twin pregnancy and one is actually still growing that can happen too...

Just wait few days more and retest and if test still showing strong positive book yourself in with a doctor for a scan to see if you actually miscarried or what’s going on

Have you contacted the early pregnancy unit? Some women bleed in pregnancy but don’t lose the pregnancy. With your HCG going up you definitely need to seek medical review if you haven’t already

I am not trying to be patronising or horrible but how do you know it's a miscarriage? Is it just the bleeding? Because that doesn't necessarily mean miscarriage it can be for many reasosns

@Charley I’ve given birth before and would put the pain I felt on the first day of bleeding as on par with early labour. I know bleeding can be normal but accompanied with the pain and cramping I’ve been experiencing it seems most likely a miscarriage

@Ceri-Ann spoke to the GP on day one of bleeding and he wouldn’t refer me to EPU because I was before 6 weeks. He just said if the bleeding suddenly stopped then to call back after the 6 week mark

I would call early pregnancy unit yourself for advice. The least the gp should’ve done was base baseline bloods and monitor those

This is disgusting treatment you have received from GP, I would definitely ring EPU and they will definitely see you, I'm only 4 weeks and they saw me yesterday, that is what they are there for, x
