Hormonal 11 y/o son?

I have 2 sons, 17 & 11. My 11y/o behaviour has changed so much the last few weeks, argumentative,emotional etc. could he be hormonal? I don't think my eldest was hormonal until around 13/14! 😞

I have an 11 year old daughter and my god, my happy go lucky loving little girl has been replaced by a moody af teenager. Always has to answer back or correct me over the smallest things, rolls her eyes, stomps up the stairs, cries at the drop of a hat, angry over trivial shit. I feel your pain!

@Rebecca this sounds exactly like my son! My gosh it's been hard work! And he's really emotional too. He's always been a little sensitive but this is on another level! Hopefully it settles down! We've got this 💪🏼

Is it to do with starting secondary school and all the changes that has brought? 🤔

I definitely think hormones and new school has definitely changed my son

My 11 year old boy has been exactly the same since going back to school. He was great over summer but his behaviour has been really bad especially the last week - we’ve had lots of meltdowns and tantrums 😣 I’ve put it down to tiredness and also with my son his behaviour definitely gets worse when he plays Fortnite and he’s been playing that more since going back to school as all his mates do. I’ve limited it to 30 mins a day now and I’m apparently the worst mum ever 😤

I’m in sane position my sons just turned 11 and his attitude and emotions have changed so much ! He’s just started high school so I think some of it may be result of that too

@Ruth I definitely think this plays a factor in his behavior. He struggles with school in general, he really doesn't like school but he is mostly good at school

@Rose i think it's definitely not helped 😔 hope your ok x

@Rebecca 😞 it's really hard isn't it! Iv limited his gaming time too. It seems like he's overtired too which doesn't help. I feel less alone after everyone's comments x

@Amanda I just can't remember my eldest son being so emotional and argumentive like this at 11. It's like he's changed over a few weeks. Hopefully it settles down, for us all ❤️

@kelly all good thanks how are you

I have an 11 year old and yes its definitely a thing. Mine argues with me almost everyday. 🥱 when he starts I pretend like I can’t hear him because why is he arguing with me? 😒. listen girl you’ve got this. It’ll pass💪🏾

@Bianca I'm glad I'm not alone 💪🏼

Always remember you’re not alone. ❤️

Sounds good x

Same with my son , arguing with me all the time

My son is 11 next week and wow! It’s 100% hormones, he’s been my easiest up until now

Yes, 100pct. My 11 year old son has gone from extroverted chatty and active to withdrawn moody and easily angry/ upset! Constant boundary testing now. I need to remind myself that “he’s having a hard time, not giving me a hard time”, although it sure appears that he is doing his best to give me a hard time 😂
