Pregnancy vitamins

I'm nearly 18wks had another midwife appointment and told her I'm still on antisickness tablets as still feeling nausea but haven't vomited in about a week. She advised to stop taking preg vitamins and just carry on with vitamin D as that's what could be making you feel sick. She said folic acid is only important in the first 12wks. I really wanna carry on taking them though. Anyone else done this?

I was the same when I was on pregnancy vitamins until I changed to a different brand . Which one did you use?

I had to do this and went to vitamin D on its own. I did the same with my first son too. They make me feel sick and upset my stomach. I guess you could test it for a week and see if it does improve? If it doesn’t make a difference then go back to taking them? Xx

Have you got a good diet otherwise? I'm taking vitamins still every other day cus my diet isn't what it should be so I feel better topping myself up with the vitamin tablets so I know baby's getting things it needs... Try it for a couple of weeks n see how you go? You might be able to eat better if you stop or reduce? Important to remember it's their job to know how to help us even if we think otherwise. Good luck hope you feel better soon! X

I only take iron and vitamin D since 12 weeks and I have to have gummies because swallowing tablets makes me feel sick.

I took pregnacare before and it gave me the worst upset stomach, went away as soon as I stopped taking them

@Vanessa I have been taking seven seas vitamins called trying for a baby they contain folic acid, iron and vit D. I started taking before pregnancy and I only started feeling sick from 9wks. I had a vit D deficiency before and my diet isn't great so wanted to keep taking the vitamins throughout pregnancy...maybe will try for a few days see how I go 😃

@Aleena same! So bad! I have tried some vitamins though that the NHS gave me and they don’t seem as bad

I’ve been having the NHS healthy start ones with vitamins C, D, and folic acid and not had any issues with them a lot of people are having issues with other brands so it’s worth looking into
