Scan

I'm in the same sort of boat - should have been 8+1 at my scan, but I was measuring 7+1 - it's nothing to worry about at this stage, even a millimetre can make all the difference. They grow so quickly in the first trimester. I also had an earlier scan when I was supposed to be 6+1 but was measuring 5+4, couldn't see anything aside from gestation sac and yolk sac then, but 2 weeks later, we got a heartbeat! Sometimes there's no reason why you could be measuring small in the early days, it's just how baby grows! 🥰

Sometimes it could literally be a measurement error. Especially with private scan where the technicians may or may not have the relevant skills and experience... x

Thanks this was nhs scan today as high risk just gutted as now worrying all week when should the heartbeat be detected got to wait till next Friday so will be 7 weeks then just so anxious especially where she didn’t to internal as not worth it in her experience as tiny just hoping gets heartbeat but seeing small ball and sac in right place I guess is a good sign x

@kelly I had exactly the same thing. You could have just ovulated later than expected. I spent a whole week panicking , went back one week later and it was all fine. Book another one for 10 days time if you can. Try to remain positive xx

Thank you for this made me feel much better yes they booked me in next Fri 4th she said 10’days so brings me to 7 weeks hoping the week goes really quick 🤣 x

@kelly Hello, can I ask a personal question ? When was your last period Mine was the 17 August 2024 reasons being I want to do a scan as well , I’m suppose to be six weeks on Saturday What if I’m too early as well

It's best to book the scan at 7 or even 8 weeks to avoid disappointment x

@Shanelle I was 5th August but nurse said could ovulated but after and with the implantation so I’m 5 plus 5 now scan been rebooked for next Fri where will be 7 weeks x
