Childcare / going back to work

Hi there, I’m self employed and so need to scale myself back up to going back to work full time in order to get clients back etc. As a result, Im planning on sending my baby to a childminder one/two days a week when he is six months old. Some people have told me this is too young - but im not sure what else to do. Has anyone else had similar experiences of sending their babies to childcare at this age or are they planning to? Any advice would be appreciated! Thank you so much!

My baby has started daycare she is not yet 5 months, there are kids younger than her. And things seem normal, she is taking it well. We do an acclamations period of 2 weeks here, to help the babies adapt and get attached to their new caregiver. Make sure to choose a good childcare with a low turnover of staff, since your kid will get attached naturally, it will be difficult for them to understand that the person is gone and that they now need to learn to rely on a new person . But honestly, things seem to be going well at this age.

Thank you!

Not planning to but my cousin sent her daughter to a childminder at just shy of a month old as she had to go back to work as she couldn’t afford to take the pay cut and my cousin was absolutely fine
