Fundal height reducing and baby dropped

Had my 31w midwife appointment. At my last appointment the fundal height was measuring 31, but she said he was really spread out and wasn’t concerned. Today I went and it’s measuring 29, but she did say that he’s moved position and his head is now engaged. Which would most likely explain the reduction, but they still have referred me for a growth scan. Has anyone else had this? Worried about the reduction in fundal height (she told me not to worry and she wasnt concerned at all but I have had a previous loss so I have gone into full panic) and also worried he’s engaged at 31w…

i wouldn’t worry about the engagement, my baby engaged and then un-engaged between 30 weeks and 33! Apparently it doesn’t really mean much at this stage. The growth scan will just be routine, so try not stress yourself too much x

I had a growth scan today because I was measuring 29cm at 31 weeks, growth scan was just routine & nice chance to see baby again! They told me she’s 29th percentile and dropped % since 20 week scan but they aren’t concerned. Its just procedure to go for scan and fundal measurements can be varying for so many reasons! X

I was referred for 2 growth scans because my fundal height didn't change between the 28 and 31 week appointments, so they were concerned baby wasn't growing, but baby's fine put on a lb in weight between the two scans and baby's head did engage between the two measurements so could have been the reason for the fundal height not to change.x

I was measuring 29cm at almost 32 weeks and was referred to a growth scan - was absolutely terrified. Luckily, turned out to be absolutely nothing - baby was growing on track to what was normal for them! The sonographer said "measuring fundal height is not an exact science, though reliable most of the time. It's always best to check anyways". Could be nothing at all, but regardless the professionals will always do what is needed for you and your baby ☺️
