From a nursery practitioner: - first aid trained: do they have Millie’s mark - staff turnover. - ratio - how do they plan for the children, what’s their curriculum, how do they share this with parents - how do they share daily updates with parents - nappies sleep etc - menu, what’s offered - what do you need to provide - how do they offer the 9month funding - do they ask you for ID or for your mobile when you walk into the building You’ll get a feeling when you walk into a nursery. Message me if you have any questions. Good luck.

Thank you ever so much Nikkay! Your advice is going to be really helpful 🤍

All the above and I’d say look at the children, are they happy? Are they free to play? Are the toys and equipment looked after. Do they have good outside equipment? Are the staff genuinely loving and nurturing to the children? Do the children engage with the staff? You can sort of tell if they have connections. You’ll get the feel for the right one x

As a teacher I like to read the ofsted report however I also know that they aren’t always to go off 100% I like to see how staff interact with the kids when you walk around. You’ll know just from a feel of the place x

I’m sure everyone else has most questions covered but I also ask about the following - Hours/Term Time - If a child is sick, what are the rules around giving Calpol, time off for illness - How will they provide updates on daily activities

I also looked at the state of the building and how clean and safe the environment seemed

I also agree with above but also make sure it not to tidy and staged, you want make sure it not just for show and children are fully engaged in play, to me if too perfect children aren't getting to be children
