Missed miscarriage but no bleeding

Hoping someone can give me some insight as I’m confused! I was 11 weeks pregnant when I had some light spotting. After getting a scan I found out my baby stopped growing at 8w6d and there was no heartbeat. I decided to do the natural way of termination (it has been a week since I found out, so almost 3 weeks since baby stopped growing) and I have had no bleeding, other than the initial spotting. I was expecting heavy bleeding so I’m confused. Anyone give me any insight ?

Sorry that you are going through this, it's really horrible. I think that if you wait for it to happen naturally, there can be quite a delay as there's no way to know when it will happen. I didn't feel comfortable waiting and not knowing when it could be so opted for medical management the first time. However even that didn't seem to trigger it properly and it ended up passing over the next week. After the 2nd miscarriage I ended up having surgery as they wanted to test for a molar pregnancy in case and although traumatic in a different way, it was completed so much quicker. I hope it doesn't go on for too much longer and you can start to heal. I'm sure you can get back in touch with the EPU to talk them about it as well

I'm sorry for your loss. I had this happen I should have been 12 weeks and baby stopped growing at 9+3 I believe it was another week or so before everything passed.

I’m so sorry that you have to go through this. My heart is with you. I had the same happen to me. I had my last scan with no heartbeat at 11 weeks, baby stopped growing at 6. It took me about a week or two after before the passing started so it took about 6/7 weeks in total before I passed. I hope that gives some perspective. I passed naturally as it felt like the best option for me. Happy to answer any other questions you might have and sending my love.

@Ashley thank you for your kind words. Hope you don’t mind me asking, but does that mean you bled for about 3 weeks? I also read some stories of people seeing the foetus in the toilet (with eyes and arms etc) and I’m petrified of seeing that in the toilet. Really not sure how my heart will cope. Did you experience this? When I asked the doctor she said it will disintegrate

@Briana Sorry to hear that 💔 thank you for your response

@Sasha Sorry to hear you had to go through it at all, let alone twice 🥺 I feel the natural way is best for me but if it does take much longer I make ask for some medical intervention as it’s hard to know when I’ll start bleeding and how that’ll make me feel. I have a scan booked for 1 weeks time so if I have no bleeding by then I will definitely ask. Thanks x

So, the first episode I had about a lemon-sized sac come out and it happened out in public so I really couldn’t see anything or look for the fetus. 6 weeks is very small so they say it would be hard to see anything in the first place. You might see something being 8 weeks but again, I’m not sure. As for the bleeding, I had dark brown spotting for a few days leading up to the first passing of the sac at 12 weeks. The second passing which came with the contractions and intense cramping happened about 4 days later. Contractions happened for a few hours and then I bled the majority of what was left, but once it passed, the pain went away immediately and it dropped to a slight spotting for a few days after. I had remaining tissue left over for quite some time but it all passed when my cycle came. The whole experience is something unlike anything else. Take care of your heart all that you can and be easy on yourself.

Sorry for your loss ❤️I didn't bleed naturally with my first miscarriage and ended up having the medical management (tablets inserted) which worked the same day and I started bleeding and passed everything the same evening. I was 8 weeks and didn't see anything obvious
