Scan & measuring behind

I had an a scan recently and was 9 weeks 2 days. The sonographer said the baby was measuring 9 weeks exactly. This was an IVF baby so dates should be accurate. I’m a little worried about measuring behind for this reason. Has anyone had a similar experience? Xx

My ivf clinic said it’s normal to be up to one week behind and one week forward. Your 12 week scan is your dating scan. 2 days behind is nothing to worry about x

Yes, had my 7 week ultrasound at the IVF clinic, I was technically 7 weeks and 1 day and baby was measuring 6 weeks 5 days. He soon caught up and then started measuring ahead. It’s all normal xx

When you’re working it out with your ivf baby, are you counting from egg collection + 14 days? I had my eggs collected fairly early in the cycle so could either be 7+3 from ovulation/egg collection or 7 from last period. X

Hope this helps off Google, I had a day 5 embryo and used this theory and then you can work your weeks from due date - If you had a three-day IVF embryo transfer, count or add 263 days from the transfer date to calculate your due date. You can also take your transfer date, add 266 days (38 weeks) to it and subtract three days.x

Thank you, yes I used that calculator and it got to April 15 but the second scan said April 17 so measuring two days behind. Hope it’s all normal xx

Very normal apparently for it to change at scans by a few days but the due date is just guidance isn’t it. I don’t know a single person who delivered on their due date so I’d take it with a pinch of salt. Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy xx
