Baby’s head is smaller than average

I had my 20 week scan and they have said baby’s head is smaller than average but fine. I can’t help but worry and stupidly googled things which has make me feel worse… Wondering if anyone has been told the same or has been in a past pregnancy but baby was just maybe small? It’s also now got me wondering if I’m maybe having a girl (we aren’t finding out) because they tend to be a bit smaller…?

I am sure if they said all is fine then it will be, I’m not sure how it works but it’s early days still so probably catch up as your pregnancy moves forward. I noticed on my measurements at 20 week scan the head was slightly less than average on the chart and yes we are having a girl not sure if they are related but I guessed girl when I noticed that and turned out to be correct x

I have the opposite worry (I’m having a boy) and his head is HUGE it’s hardly even on the scale 😂 but the sonographer didn’t say it wasn’t normal still and as Lisa says, we’re so early! I work with dogs and used to have horses and their babies seem to have really uneven awkward growth spurts where things are out of proportion for ages but they even out so I’m sure ours are the same :) my vagina is hoping that’s true anyway 😂

The same thing has happened to me at 20 weeks they have told me my daughters head is measuring small 3rd percentile and I ran straight to google myself and that was the worst thing I could have done it’s honestly stressed me out.. I’m currently 25 weeks now and have changed my mind set to if her heads small it’s small there isn’t anything I can do about it she still has 15 plus weeks of growing to do:) I get giving another scan at 28 weeks to check if things have changed it’s been a long wait but I just try not to worry about it as there’s nothing I can do.

We have the same worry. My boy's head is 9th percentile, down from 13th percentile at his last scan. None of the medical professionals we've spoken to are worried - they all said that as long as his growth trajectory is linear then it's all ok. I suppose not all babies can be exactly average sizes! Someone has to be on the smaller and larger end of the scale. So I'm trying not to worry.

Thank you ladies, you’ve made me feel a lot better! I just couldn’t help but over think it… Hopefully everything will be fine!

Mines below the 5th centile and I'm waiting rescan, it's really hard isn't it, there's lots of time left to grow and things aren't always linear, but I have had the exact same thing my lovely x

I'm also not finding out too x
