Thank you!
There's a chance but it's fairly low. Especially if it's a restaurant you trust. There are plenty of people who eat deli meat, sushi, etc during pregnancy. There is a higher chance of bacteria listeria in certain foods and we are more susceptible to them being pregnant. So it's a good caution to take. But if you eat it like you did by accident you generally have a small chance of something happening. I've totally forgotten and eaten deli meat in a sandwich, for example. You do also want to be careful with fish and seafood to watch for things high in mercury (example: tuna) but that's for a different reason.
Also, I would complain, that is a big mistake.
@Miriam oh I did!!!!
Yea like everyone said the risk is low people cut it out just to avoid for the possibility and food company’s also want to hide their asses in case of anything but if it had salmonella or listeria that’s bad for non pregnant people so the company would have to get on it
Your fine- people in Japan eat raw sushi all throughout their pregnancy.. my best friend was stationed there with her husband and he used to catch it and they would eat it for dinner all the time for her first- baby girl is now 5. American likes to instill fear- you stressing out is worse than the raw fish you just ate most likely. Sure there is a risk.. there’s a risk with unwashed spinach- just watch your symptoms for the next day or so … even if it is bad it’s not anywhere near as bad as listeria bacteria.. the actual bacteria in raw fish isn’t as bad
