Baby’s Weight

So once they tell you the baby’s weight off an ultrasound, I know it is not accurate from what I have heard. Is it ALWAYS more than the amount they say or it could be LESS too ? Anyone know this ? This would be my first baby so I do not know and I finally get my first and last weight told today at my last ultrasound because I was never old earlier in pregnancy ☹️.

For my first pregnancy I was induced at 39+5 and my son was measured as 9lb 6oz but when he was born he was 8lb 14oz. So their prediction was too high.

It's never 100% accurate. It's more so a guess, like due dates are. It may be close, but it's rarely ever spot on.

@Stephenie ohh okay so definitely it can be lower than their prediction

@Bree for sure!!

First baby on ultrasound appointment they said 7 pounds when she was born she was 6 pounds

@Juwona awe okay so they can be off by less than what they say!!

I was told 7.5-8lbs even though last ultrasound guessed 8lb10oz and was born 9lb12oz

@Kaitlin oh wow that is pretty nice 🥰

My dr told me they can be on average +/- 1.5 lbs. Definitely an estimate at the end bc they get so scrunched in there.
