Childcare

So I’m currently pregnant due end of December. I have a soon to be 2 year old in October. My partner has a great job and recently had a pay rise. We’re thinking about putting our daughter in for 2/3 days a week so I can get the house sorted for our new arrival but I feel so bad😢 I have the choice for times. 7:30 or 9:00 start with a 15:00 or 17:00 finish She is already way ahead of milestones for quite a lot just her behaviour I’m worried about.

Being pregnant, preparing for a newborn, and looking after a toddler is hard. I can understand your decision to utilise nursery for a short period of time. Do what you need to do mama! I’d suppose it depends on what time your child naturally rises in a morning. I’d personally go for the 9am start; you’re gonna be up early if you want to start at 07:30am 🫠

@Kate Yes I definitely agree! Thankyou x

Ahh that good for him and yeah definitely do the 9am start, way better. 7:30 is too early, plus at least you would have thoughts days to prepare and also can relax alittle abit before new born. And don’t feel bad, you would realise it’s needed for time and space and plus, good for her to social with other little ones and she will grow more and learn more. Good luck! You got this! 😊💕

@Lorraine Thankyou so much. I will be asking for the 9am🩷Definitely, everybody keeps telling me but I get so worried haha x

No problem & I hear ya. Your just used to having her around, that’s why. 🙂 xo

Don’t feel bad. My eldest was on nursery when I was pregnant with my second and it helped her loads because she was with kids who had siblings so I think it helped her with the transition. We debated saving money and taking her out when I went on maternity but we kept her in and now she has just started reception and you can tell the kids who haven’t been to nursery at all are finding it harder. Honestly 2/3 days is a great balance and it will be good to have time with the baby alone just like you did with your eldest. Also you would find it hard to go to baby groups with the new one and a 2-3 year old as many won’t let you take older kids. Take a 9am start have a few hours with baby and then look forward to hearing your eldests adventures later on
