C section Date

Consultant booked me in when I had an appointment at 34 weeks but the date is just 2 days before due date 😳

I've never had a growth scan but had a consultant appointment around 26 weeks on phone. All booked in but date will be confirmed week before (in 38th week)

With my last 2 they booked me in at my 18 week consultation so it's frustrating not to have a date yet... I need to organise stuff 😂

Consultant requested my c-section at 33 weeks and I got the date in a letter a few days later for 40+5, though I’m hoping to VBAC before then.

@Becca hi seen u on a few other posts, have a feeling we not only are due around the same time but also are in similar situation (emerg c-s with first, now hoping for vbac). Was just wondering did u have to request a date for your c-s or was that automatic? I am coming close to 36 weeks now ive already had my vbac appt but havent had a date set for c section if vbac fails. I guess im ok with that as its less pressure, but id rather have a scheduled date set for if i go over thsn it ending in an emergency again due to such late notice. Do u think i have to bring this up with them?

@Tahirah during a consultant appointment they asked how I felt about if I didn’t go into labour spontaneously and I said that I did not want an induction under any circumstances and that I would opt for an elective c-section at 41 weeks, so she offered to put in the request there and then and I said yes as the earlier you request, the more likely you are to get the date you want. Do you have a birth choices appointment or consultant appointment coming up? I’m sure they’ll discuss it with you there and then. If not, I’d definitely mention it to your midwife at your next appointment x

@Becca i actually saw the midwife yday so thank u. I did discuss with them but turns out theres a few concerns with baby and i need a growth scan again on monday which may bring my date theh allow me to go to closer anyway 😔praying all is ok with my baby and it was just an error on the system otherwise hopefully i go into spontaneous labour soon as i know if they induce which they are talking about already, i will deffo end up with another c-s😌🙏good luck to u xxx
