Stay at home mom

Hello, I recently became a sahm. So far I am loving it, being able to see them grow and not missing anything. But sometimes I feel like I need a schedule, cleaning, cooking, crafts, playtime, pumping, feeding and the list goes on. Does anyone have a schedule they follow? Like Mondays are for …. Tuesday is for.. thank you.

Following bc I don’t! Haha. My baby is only 4 months, though, so playtime is still pretty simple. And thankfully my husband does a lot of the chores. I’d love to have a little more routine, like go for at least one short walk per day (I’m honestly pretty lazy so it can be hard to get out at all!)

I would see what options you have for free things in your area and build a schedule around that. Like our library does a baby story time Wednesdays so I would put that on the schedule for those days. And a museum we have a membership to is only open Wednesday -Sunday so I'd schedule it for one of the other days. That might help you build a schedule

I’m in the same boat. First time sahm. Still trying to figure out a schedule and create a new norm.

@Sara love that idea! I do baby and me yoga on Tuesdays so that’s the only thing on the schedule so far lol

I’m on baby #2 as a SAHM and I still don’t have a schedule per say. I do all laundry on Sundays that way we have fresh clothes for the week. And I do bathrooms on Sundays because dad is home to keep our toddler preoccupied. Dishes get done every day. Vacuuming or sweeping is done usually every other day (it’s hard on my back and shoulders sometimes). Mopping gets done when I get around to it because I always have a tiny shadow following me around and I don’t want her to slip (I don’t do it at night cuz I’m usually too tired at the end of the day I just want to lay down). Cooking gets done 3 times a day. I make (sometimes order) me and my daughter breakfast (10a) and lunch (1p) and I start dinner while the babies are napping. Everything else happens in between where it can.

Tbh I don’t like following a strict schedule because to me it defeats the purpose of being a stay at home wife/mom. If I wanted a strict daily schedule, I would have stayed working. That’s just me though.

Holy moly, @Bria! You are super productive! #goals

@Whitney lol thanks but you’re giving me too much credit. That’s most days. There are days where I do absolutely nothing and I have no shame lol

@Bria good! As it should be! ❤️

I have 3 under 2 and l be in the same boat as Bria lol some days are more productive that others. Your routine would fall in place as time goes by. Trust me once baby start having long wake windows it would be harder to keep the house clean lol my only tip is don’t let the cleaning or routine get into your head l used to stress a lot with omg l want the house clean and have things done in a way and slowly l learn l can only control what l can 🤍
