Do you feel pregnant?

How do you know/determine baby is doing okay when your symptoms are all dropping off but no scans? Do follow up midwife appointments include them checking baby’s heartbeat with a Doppler?

I think they check babies heart via a doppler at 16 weeks and after

Hey, at your Routine midwife appts they dont automatically listen to baby’s heartbeat anymore (from what I’ve been told). My midwife has said anytime I want to hear it, she can check it for me but it’s not standard care. Some still do, some won’t do it at all, it’s very dependant xx

I’ve currently got no symptoms but had my 12 week scan today and all was well xx

16 week appointment was today and no doppler, they didn’t do it at all during my 2021 pregnancy either so I just don’t think it’s a thing. That said every trust will differ like Sophie said x

I'm 12 weeks had no symptoms at all. We had private scan at 7 weeks when I first found out and baby was doing well. Got the 12 weeks scan next week be great to see how it doing

@Vicky I’m the same not had symptoms either had scan today and all was well xx

@Jessica so strange having no symptoms it's made it really hard to accept I'm awful pregnant. Keep forgetting cos I feel so normal 🙃

My symptoms are on and off at the moment but I'm definitely getting a bump so that's reassuring. During my first pregnancy I wouldn't have heard the heartbeat at all if it wasn't for monitoring during my induction. I think they avoid for the most part as it can cause more worry than reassurance if it's difficult to pick up. It's why they also say not to use one at home x

I just had my 16 week appointment and she didn't listen to the heartbeat this time but she said she will at the 22 week appointment.

I’m 14 weeks and felt awful up until about 13 weeks and now almost don’t feel pregnant! Minus the odd tiny bit of nausea x

I went to my 16 week appointment on Monday and they didn’t do it! If I remember correctly they started doing it when they started measuring my bump around 25 weeks I think with my first

When you start feeling baby kick that will be your indicator 😊 ask your midwife about the heartbeat checks as my hospital does from 26 weeks. Try not to worry, you will have/had your 12 week scan, then your 20 week scan, by this point or a little while after you will feel baby kick and then you know they are okay! (and the heart checking if your hospital does) If money allows you can pay for private scans too, a 4D scan is a nice treat! Try looking for “window to the womb” near you xx
