Who to request MRI docs from? NHS

I had an mri a few months ago. I went to a&e and then they got me in so it wasn't requested through the gp or anything. Who can I request the images from? Would they of sent them to the GP? Or do I ring the hospital?

Hospitals should always send information on scans to your GP. So call GP first. But after the scan has no one followed up with you?

I work in labs and blood work is really my forte however your GP has a legal duty of care to obtain results for you, so don’t let them try to tell you to call the hospital/department yourself ! Your gp should do it x

Always the GP first, not the hospital, they would/should have told you to contact the GP. Then you can book an a appointment to go and discuss them and see the images.

If it’s for your own personal use, As you had it done via the hospital, although the GP would’ve got a copy of the report, the hospital will probably be the easier place to get them. If you contact the hospitals PALS department they should be able to direct you to the correct procedure for requesting the notes. If it’s to discuss results you need to go via the GP

Brilliant thanks everyone. They followed up a few days later and said they'd want to book me in for an in person appointment, I haven't had any communication since and that was the end of May...I've been fobbed off for 9 months so I just wanna gather everything I can and go to someone else and see what the actual problem is x

If that’s the case I would go to whoever you plan on seeing instead and they can request it. Professionals will get them far quicker than you will. They will also only provide certain parts of the notes that you request so if other aspects are needed that would be another request whereas another professional would be able to access those notes via one request for access

As above, you cna try with your GP or send a request to your board. If you Google it, you should find an email address with instructions on how to do it.

Hopefully there’s nothing serious because if there was they should have followed up with you ASAP.
