Primary vs Private School (Booragoon)

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some insights on private vs. public schooling in Perth. My son is turning 3 at the end of this year, and we're planning to enroll him in Kindergarten in 2026. We fall within the catchment area for Brentwood and Mount Pleasant Primary Schools, both of which have good rankings. However, I’m also exploring the option of private schooling. I’d love to hear your thoughts or experiences with public versus private schools in this area.

I'm a high school teacher, and from my experiences, the only major difference is behaviour (priv school kids are better behaved). BUT I've also had the same behaved children at public schools, I truly believe it's the parenting. The curriculum is usually the same (private school imo is more of a cult lol), public school systems are usually up to date with new changes in syllabus and curriculum whereas private schools usually use the same worksheets and programs every single year (which makes it a lot easier for teachers but students need differentiation!) they can't be learning the same thing a student 5 years ago learned, things change. Feel free to message me for a deeper convo haha xx I also wouldn't depend on school ranking, a lot of it is exaggerated (I'm in NSW tho so Perth may be different) xx
