Do I have another scan?

You only get the nhs 12 week dating scan and the 20 week anomaly scan. Unless they are conerned or think you need one due to babies growth (fundal height measurement ) or you are high risk x

@KeleighI know 2 is definitely not enough specifically after the 20 week scan like how are you meant to wait a whole 20 weeks more without seeing them. I am high risk last pregnancy and this one, so i get to see babies about every 2 weeks x

Think it depends on your area as I have another scan at 36 weeks from the nhs x

Standard is 12 and 20 week scans but depends on your pathway and any concerns. I’ve got another one at 36weeks as my first born was breech so they’re going to check as the midwives struggle to tell through feeling my stomach. X

Yes unless they need to do further scans because of reason such as high risk or previous births. My eldest was a small baby so I have scans every month

You only get the two scans unless you're either high risk or the midwives think that the growth is slowed. I'm high risk due to my two previous pregnancies so I've got scans every 4 weeks from the 26th September xx

I’m on 2wkly scans as high risk tho baby gave us a scary last week and pinched his cord causing restrictions in blood flow so had 3 scans in 7 days . Luckily that’s resolved so back to 2wkly

You can book a private one if you can afford it x I had about 10-12 scans already due to being high risk so I had scans every 2 weeks . Plus 3 private ones .

@Becky yes, in my area everyone gets an extra scan at 36 weeks. I think it was originally part of a trial that lasted several years, and because of its success they made it permanent

My trust does a 36wk scan.

I’ve only had my 12 & 20 week scans. Nothing now until they are here I’m 29 weeks today. My midwife said at my last appointment don’t be worried if I send you for a scan just the measurements can be off because we’re baby is lying. I’d love to see them again before they arrive.

Definitely an area thing as I get an extra scan at 36 weeks as well.
