Small baby

I'm due in November but booked in for a c section in October. I had a growth scan today as I do every 4 weeks, however since my last scan baby's abdomen is smaller than my last scan done 4 weeks ago. Everything else seemed to be fine but they have booked me in for an extra scan in 2 weeks time. Should I be worried? Does anyone know what it means if baby's belly has gotten smaller? Thank you x

I had this on one of my scans and the Sonographer told me it’s a tricky measurement to get and to get an exact measurement they need it straight across but most of the time it’s taken at an oblique angle due to baby’s position and therefore often not accurate (as scans can be!) try not to worry x

Discuss with your provider/midwife. It will be a better advice than from us mums here Xx But try not to worry 🤗

Hi lovely. This happened to us. Growth had dropped off on baby’s abdomen from 37 weeks - 39 weeks so they wanted to induce there and then. She was born 3 days later after my induction at 5 pounds 11 and on the 9th percentile. She was perfectly healthy but diddy! And her stomach was skinny but absolutely nothing wrong with her xx
