Baby size

I went to my Obgyn today for an ultrasound and based on my due date I’m 32w1d and my baby weighs 4.2 lbs. The doctor told me the that due date is an estimate based on my period and first ultrasound. The machine shows 34 weeks plus and the baby is a little on the lower side. I’m a little confused - I did ask a lot of questions but has anyone had any similar experience ? The doctor says based on 32w1d estimate the baby is on the higher side and based on the other estimate the baby is on the lower side . 🤨 All opinions are welcome. Thanks a lot.

Don't worry too much about the size estimates. They stressed me out both times and both times they were absolutely wrong.

They told me my boy is estimated at 4.1lbs according to my due date and I'm 33w3d

I really wouldn’t worry about that it’s not necessarily something to be concerned about unless given other reason but the ultrasounds are never 100 percent asking as baby is growing fine don’t over think it ………

When I went in for my 32w scan my baby also measured 4lbs2oz. My Dr told me he is right on track and isn’t worried!

@Kristian Larger thanks a lot, this is a bit of relief. 😮‍💨

@Amber yeah you’re right I have been overthinking…I try not to but it’s been so hard. If the baby is big I’m worried on how I’ll be getting her out and if she’s small I’m worried about her development

@Leslie thanks a lot Leslie…yeah I do get stressed by every word expression and what not 😅

Like they seriously told me my first son was gonna be 10lbs, he was freaking 8! And they estimated my second son at 7lbs and he was only 5lbs.

I’m sure your doctors will help you if the baby is to big don’t worry trust your body and if the baby is small which is also fine plenty of woman had small babies and there babies have been fine … everything will be okay ……. I’m small petite framed and I remember the doctors did a ultrasound and said my second born would be 7 pounds turned out he was 9 pounds almost 10 pounds and omg 😳 the recovery was by far the worst out of my 6 children but everything was fine and I’m sure if I my body was t able to they would have opted for C-section which is also fine ….. Don’t overthink you got this remember deep breaths

@Amber Thanks so much Amber…yes I am a bit worried about the recovery as well if the baby gets too big

Ultrasound measuring is notoriously strange. Trust yourself. I was told I needed to have an early c section with my first because she was measuring big since i had GD. I pushed back and didn't give birth until late into 38 weeks, she only weighed 7.1 pounds.
