Urine Test Every Appointment?

Ladies, I’m 27 weeks today, I have my last monthly appointment next Monday when I’m 28 weeks. In all of my monthly appointments, including a follow up from an ER visit that turned out I just had a slight infection, I’ve never had to do a urine test except the first appointment to confirm my already confirmed pregnancy. Did yall get urine tests every appointment or no?

I got urine all the time in the beginning and now it’s here and there, I think it depends on what your experiencing because when I raised concern for things they’ll do it

I haven’t had any issues, knock on wood. And my dr office asks for it at every single visit.

I have to do one for every appointment. I was told they monitor glucose levels among other things.

Yeah I get mine checked every appointment too. They check glucose levels and to see if there is any protein in your urine. These things can be indicators or diabetes and/or preeclampsia.

I think it really depends on your practice! I was seeing midwives who never did urine tests (except for first appointment). I switched to an OBGYN office and now they make me submit a urine sample every appointment. They are testing for protein in the urine which can be a sign of preeclampsia. But according to ACOG it’s not necessary unless you’re exhibiting other symptoms. I think certain practices are just very careful bc of legal/liability reasons. https://www.acog.org/education-and-events/creog/curriculum-resources/cases-in-high-value-care/usefulness-of-urine-protein-dipstick-testing-as-part-of-routine-prenatal-care

they ask for urine at every visit i go to

I do a urine test every appt. I’m 27 weeks

I only did urine test for my first appointment

My doctor only does them starting at 28 weeks and on to test for preeclampsia

Mine takes it almost every appt to test for glucose & protein, but they’ve never shared results, so my assumption is that everything’s fine. I’m transferring care to a birth center where they won’t be taking as many samples.

My ob does a urine test every single appointment.

My office does a urine and blood test every appointment, but I believe is because at the beginning of my pregnancy I had and infection both times so they probably just want to stay safe, if possible whenever you feel like you might have one just calll them and ask them if they can test you, I don’t think you need an appointment at all for that. Just take care of yourself mama, the baby can be really affected from infections

I thought I was only one who felt this way! I was like what happen to the urine test?

My doctor does a test at every appointment
