Heartbeat

I'm not sure about 20w scans but my midwife let me hear at my 16w appointment with her at the GP, I think if you ask at the hospital or your next midwife appointment hopefully they will let you!

my midwife said I’d hear it at 25w appointment

Can’t remember if they turn the sound on or not but you’ll be able to see lots of baby as they due a very very detailed check for this scan

They check the heartbeat definitely though sometimes they do this without sound on, so you just see the waves on the screen. But you can always ask, just say I’d like to hear the heartbeat please, the worst they can say is no. I think from memory the sound was on in my last pregnancy but only quickly. My midwife listened at the 16 week appointment but this is 50/50. Next midwife is 25 weeks for first time pregnancy and they should listen via doppler then.

I had my 20 week scan and didn’t hear the heartbeat, could see it on the screen beating. We did have a private scan and was able to hear it and we was 17 weeks and got a heartbeat bear with it in xx

nhs scans never listened to the heartbeat, only heard it at private scans and at my 26 week midwife appointment x

I had my 20 week scan y’day and she let me hear it quickly.

I heard the heartbeat at 12 weeks without asking so surely if you ask they should let you hear it at 20! They’ll be checking anyway so it’s literally just a case of turning the sound up 😅

Update they did in fact let me hear it baby is happy and healthy ❤️❤️
