Measuring behind

Hi ladies so I had a scan at 5w3d as I wanted to rule out ectopic. A gestation sac was present but couldn’t see a yolk sac. So I then had another scan today at the EPU, where I thought I was 6w3d, but I’ve only just managed to see a yolk sac and my gestation sac is measuring at 12.6mm so I’m less than 6 weeks instead. Has this been similar for anyone else and gone on to have a healthy pregnancy? I think the worst bit is the fact that I saw the scan last week but wasn’t shown anything today either. Is there any way I can get baby’s growth up as well at all? All the advice is appreciated. Thank you in advance 🫶🏼

Hi, I’m in the same boat!! I had a scan last Friday to rule out ectopic thinking I was 6w exactly and they could only see gestation sac, no yolk sac. I have to go back on Friday to see if it has grown anymore! It’s a nervous wait isn’t it! Do you have another scan booked in a weeks time? Xx

Personally I wouldn't worry, it might be that ovulation/implantation was slightly different to when you expected. This early on things can change very quickly. In my last pregnancy the gap from not seeing the sac to it being visible was 3 days.

@Erin they’ve booked me back at the EPU for 10 days time but I have another scan on Thursday with Tommys so I’m hoping to see a bit of change there at least but it’s so nerve wrecking honestly! Definitely keep me updated on how it goes! xxx

@Abby yeah the nurse did mention that as well but obviously as someone who’s had recurrent miscarriages, I literally was like hm yeah no I think it’s another missed miscarriage 😫 but I think I’m just gonna try and hold onto hope until my next 2 scans cuz of course your gap was 3 days which is so amazing! It’s not like it isn’t grown, it’s just really behind so thank you for the reassurance! xxx
