Yoga

I’m 12 weeks, is it safe to do regular yoga or do I need to be adapting some of the positions?

At twelve weeks, you should be fine. Like any exercise, don’t push yourself more than you normally would, stick to your normal intensity level or scale it back if that feels right to you, and if something doesn’t feel great then stop! Yoga is great for s lot of pregnancy aches and pains so it’s good to stay at it! I switched to a pregnancy yoga class around 20 weeks, most of the postures stayed the same but for some we did variations, basically anything that would require our head going below our heart we avoided or adapted because that’s difficult for a lot of women in pregnancy. Also as you get further along, you might find you seem more flexible but avoid stretching past your normal limit. In other ways, you’ll get less flexible! If you have a yoga ball that is GREAT when you get to the third trimester and you can also use it while you labour x

The instructors are usually very good also if you let them know and will show you adaptations as you go through the session.

Completely fine at 12 weeks as long as you feel all good and up to it. Adaptations always there- instructor should know. Also get pregnancy specific yoga as you grow. ☺️ Feel free to message me for more help if you need- preggo and a personal trainer

Thanks everyone
