Universal credits and working

How many hours can you work without the amount they pay you be effected? My little girl is 2 next month and I have a 5 year old. I really don’t want to do full time work yet and know now they accept funding for 2 year olds. I was going to do a bit of work here and there while she’s at nursery for those hours. But does it have to be legit on the books or can it be like random work and do I have to note down my employer on the system also will be universal credits be effected much?

I work 22.5 and I get the same amount every month that’s 3 nights for me they look how much you earn in a month and go off that

It doesn’t go by hours anymore it goes by earnings. So I can earn upto £1300 before they take anything from me , I work anywhere between 28/35 hours x

Thanks and how do they monitor how many hours/pay you do? And Do you still have to go every so often?

They will look at your wages and work it out form there

I have never gone in the only time they phone me was when I was off sick and my money drop at work

Oh ok so they look at your bank account? Because I do randomly do a bit of work occasionally at some point in the month that varies in pay but that is paid into my account, I could just tell them about that?

You can earn quite a bit before it’s effected then 🤯

@Nicole £1300???? They start deducting when i’ve earned £404 for me?

so as it’s through HMRC you have to be through the books with a company? Because atm I do occasional little work for someone and instead of cash they pay into my account a couple of hundred
