Running post partum

When did people start to run again after having their baby I’m currently 6 weeks pp and prior to being pregnant I was going 5/10k runs

The recommendation is 3 months. I was cleared by a physio at 7 months after my c section & 3 months after my vaginal delivery. From 6-12 weeks I focused on abdominal and pelvic floor rehab. Lots of pilates-type exercises and walking.

I waited until 12 weeks, just to allow my body, pelvic floor etc to recover and regain strength before putting it under pressure again xx

3 months and start very slowly. Ease into it

I was around 4/5 months pp

I did 5k x3 times 7-8 weeks pp and it was the worst decision I’ve ever made 🙈 I stopped and instead focused on rebuilding my strength and core following Kayla on the sweat apps post c section recovery program and starting Joe wicks from beginners level. About 4.5 months pp I started running running solo and the buggy running 5.5 months pp. I’m now 10 months pp and not far off my pre pregnancy pace ☺️
