Schools with cameras in the classroom.

I have a five year-old in kindergarten who is currently struggling with speech delay and I’m trying to find a school that have cameras in the classrooms in case of incidents or just to check on him throughout the day. Does anybody have any suggestions on where I can contact to get that information or any locations? I live in Orlando, Fl.

I don’t think elementary schools have cameras. I know that daycares do I have a child with a speech delay, he’s in a special needs class. Does your child have an IEP ?

Thank you for your response! Yes, he has an IEP and is currently is ESE Kindergarten

@Jay I feel there’s dishonesty going on and possible neglect. I’ve already had a meeting with the teacher and principal but it feels like a dead end. Just trying to get some advice on options

@Chanel understandable my son is in a younger grade. If you were closer to me I’d definitely recommend our school, his teacher texted me everyday. Maybe consider getting an advocate ?

@Jay Hmmm! An advocate.. that is great advice! I usually advocate for my child but lately my hands have been full with my 5 month old and I’m not on top of things with my oldest like I use to be. I will definitely make some calls tomorrow! Side note, my son’s teacher does text me sometimes and send photos. I just feel sometimes I ask questions or have concerns and her responses are… “I’m not sure”, or “I don’t know”. That’s not reassuring at all especially when an incident may have caused my child pain..

@Chanel oh I totally get that, it’s definitely hard putting your child somewhere when they cannot speak. Maybe work with him with communication cards? That could be helpful for him to tell you things. My son has an AAC device but he doesn’t like to use it.

Thank you for telling me about the AAC device. It’s worth a try to see if it’ll help 🙏🏾

@Chanel does he have a speech therapist? We were able to get it with her help through able net
