Pre-school

Hello mums! My son doesn't go to nursery but has recently started talking about wanting to play "with friends" and going to school. Thinking of sending him to pre-school for a day or two a week. Has anyone been thinking the same ? What sort of set up are you going to have? What do they do at pre school? We have a meeting with a nice pre school with us next week but thought ill ask here for others to share their experiences etc. Thanks in advance

Mines at nursery and was moved up to preschool in August. They have a bit more structure than the all day play in toddler room apparently. It's to get them school ready. No more naps unless they ask for a nap.

The same as above, LG is in a preschool room in a nursery. No uniform, but a bit more structured, play is a bit quieter, they have to ask if they need the toilet (but free to use all day) and there's still a lot of learning through play/being creative. They have optional extras which she does, a dance instructor comes in once a week which she loves and she also goes to farm school once a week during term time. Although I'd love to be able to stay at home with her a bit more, she has access to a lot more experiences than she would at home with me so we make the most of it.

My little boy goes to preschool on Tuesdays and Fridays. He absolutely loves it. We found one with great activities like football club, gardening, toddler yoga etc! He also loves all the different activities they set up every day. He’s learnt so much already in the past couple of months and gets excited to go on a morning. The first few weeks of drops off were hard but it as soon as he bonded with his key worker and made friends, all the tears went away!

He started in April preschool morning sessions on Tuesday and Friday. He really enjoys it so from September he is going 3x a week, I think he would like to go everyday. Maybe when funding starts in January will put him in another day. There are days that at pick up time he comes has a look at me and says bye bye mummy and goes back in to play🙂
