School siblings

My daughter got a place at reception near to where we currently live. It’s a very good school. But we are moving to the next town which is another 10/15 mins away. I won’t be moving her schools, however her brother will be due to start the preschool at the same school next year sep. will he get a place because her sister goes there but we live in the next town?

My 2 are at a school 10 minutes away in a village lotsof people from local towns travel I don't think so e councils are as bothered no on catchment etc more about spaces they have but having one child there probably ups the chances of the younger sibling getting a place x

Is it usually oversubscribed? Your council was have a list of what the school priority order is when it’s oversubscribed.

@@Rea the priority list is , children with special education needs first then its siblings then its catchment area. But it doesn’t say siblings in catchment area or outside catchment area. Do you think I can call the school and ask for advice?

Sometimes despite having a sibling at the school if you live out of catchment you might not get a place. It could well depend on the popularity of the school and the birth rate for that year.
