Unfortunately you do have to be early with these things ask them if they operate a waiting list incase there’s movement later in the year. School nurseries have no baring for reception places so there’s a fair chance of your child getting a place in reception next year. In terms of school look up the school admissions in your local area. We are in Kent and applications open in nov-Jan many schools will have open days in the next couple of months so do your research and visit the schools that appeal most to you. Also look at their catchment areas (unfortunately with our eldest schools were so over subscribed in the area we live in we couldn’t get any of our chosen schools) so just bare that in mind… however even though the school wasn’t our chosen one it’s been great so it’s not all bad!

If you’re based in England/Wales I believe you can already apply for September 2025 and you need to do it before January 2025. If you’re based in Scotland the registration opens on the 1st Nov 2024.
