Nursery updates?

Anyone’s LOs that have started nursery? I wanted to know how often you get updates and pictures of them. The nursery my LO goes to provide what she’s eaten on the app but that’s about it there’s not really any pictures of what she’s been up to all morning and when I ask when picking her up they give very generic answers like she’s been outside today or she’s been fine playing today. Am I asking for too much wanting to know exactly what she’s been doing and wanting pictures of everything? They usually say they’re too busy with all the children to be able to take pics.

I know the feeling when they start, but think about it.... If they have 9 kids and snap pics of something fun once or twice a day for each kid... How much time does it leave for them to pay attention to the kids? I would love to see what my lo does at any time, but I would much rather staff be present with them as much as possible. Feel free to ask more specific questions -what were today's activities? Anything fun he/she did?

We get a very generic update at the end of the day. No pictures. This would be a problem for me but I know how much my LO absolutely loves it as she runs in there in the morning so that makes me feel better. I know she is having fun what ever she is doing. We also have parents evening regularly so i get more detailed info then

We get pictures at the end of the day. Some from the morning session and some from the afternoon session. I really like it but I do understand what others have said about preferring that the child is looked after. I think at my nursery, the nursery manager takes the pictures as I can see all the staff in the pictures

I work in a nursery and as much as we would love to be able to send photos etc everyday of different things we simply do not have time. It also takes us away from the children, we aren’t there to bury our noses in iPads we are there to educate, look after and meet your child’s needs and we explain this to our parents and they are more than happy with that. Don’t get me wrong if we get 5 minutes (very rarely) we will. Your child should have some form of learning journey which you can look at any time with special moments/celebrations/photos etc inside of x

We get the diary at the end of day with pictures from their circle time, then morning and afternoon activities along with food, naps, nappies etc

Our nursery provides photo and caption style updates (describing what was happening in the photos and what my lo has been enjoying doing). They only provide these as and when on the app (every couple of weeks maybe) and never give us any info on nappies or food etc. to start with I hated how there was no consistency but like others have said she seems really happy being there so that’s made me feel less worried. When she first started though I felt the same as you!
