I tried it and failed with my first, I only had a graze from the birth. I don’t think it has a massive correlation
I've tried to do it a few times since 36 weeks and found it incredibly uncomfortable 🙁 xx
i don’t know if it helps yet but i’m 37+3 and done it 3 times a week since 36 weeks, it was so so uncomfortable at first but definitely seems to be getting a bit more bearable so hopefully it’s doing something !!! x

I think we need to look at it from the point of it might not necessarily help as in you won’t tear at all because the stats are very high like 9 in 10 women tear up, but maybe if you didn’t do the massage, you’d have 3rd degree tear instead of 2. If you’re doing it every other day for 7-10 minutes, 4 cm in and really pressing it down on 3-6-9 and the quarters too!! then I think it will help. At least I hope so! Don’t forget to breathe through it and relax, we’re just simply stretching the muscles and it’s always good to stretch before marathon (aka birth)
Didn’t do it with my first as he came very early and had two minor tears, however did it with my second as well as laboring in a warm bath and didn’t tear at all!! X
