NH moms!

Hi I am looking into moving to NH and was hoping for some recommendations for god places to move for schooling & prices. I’m hoping to find a good area and a good school system. Thank you.

Do you want big school or small? The farther north, east, and west you go the smaller the schools get. Do you want city or country

@Lea-ann I don’t care about size, more of an overall rating. I liked Rochester but looking into the school I seen parents saying the bullying is swept under the rug and nothing is done about it

Well i went through concord school district where the funding is much better than where i went in Manchester. Manchester is so short staffed on bus drivers a lot of kids are left walking to school. Concord has quarterly field trips for most grades. I went to Manchester for most of a middle school year and the only “field trip” we went on was next door to the high school football field. I now drive school bus for SAU48 which includes Ashland, Plymouth, campton, Thornton. Those towns have smaller populations leaving them to use the same buildings for k-8 then 9-12. But if your kids want sports they do have closer access to the mountains and other hiking trails/outdoor activities. Every winter the schools do an 5-8 week “winter sports” and go on a field trip every week. Plus Highland Games.

Hey! I’m a teacher and from the seacoast! The seacoast schools are in my opinion the best in NH but also the most expensive place to live. Durham and Portsmouth have such great school districts. Right now I live and work in Raymond. Raymond school district is amazing! It’s small and a very close knit community. It’s also more affordable to live rather than the seacoast

Stay out of manchester and Rochester for sure as ive heard nothing good. I'm in litchfield which is highly rated as well as belmont and Gilmanton and Gilford I believe- I have family in that area. I would do some research. Bow I have a friend whose kid goes there is good I've heard...and also depends on how diverse you want the community as well. The more souther nh areas are more diverse with ethnicity which I really like.

Keene or Peterborough has really great school systems.
