What if?…

Just a thought of the day for all you other mamas struggling with your anxiety. I remember hearing this from a great therapist and wanted to share. What if everything goes well? What if by doing something you’re scared of, you end up succeeding? What if by reaching out and trying to connect with people you making a lifelong friendship? What if by applying for that job you’re too scared you won’t get, you do? And it’s so much better than what you could have imagined! What if by starting that new group that seems to scary, you have a great time? And look forward to it every week. What if nothing bad happens? What if by opening up to someone, they get you on a deeper level and you finally feel heard? All my life I have been a ‘what if?’ person. But it’s always been negative. What if I fail? What if I don’t succeed? What if I’m an awful mum? What if something awful happens? When I actually think about it, the positives what ifs have probably happened more, but I’ve never focused on them. I felt like by listening to the negatives I’d be protecting myself. All it has ever done has held me back ☹️thinking like this has never stopped bad things happening. But has only stopped what beautiful things could have been! This is a sign today to try and flip your anxiety thoughts upside down, and change those ‘what ifs’ into more positive ones 💕
