Stuck

Does anyone else feel a bit stuck? Like I feel really lonely in the week (as all my close friends and family work in the week) so know I should try to get out more but I’m an introvert naturally and I am still scared about going on on my own with baby! Worried he will scream or I can’t settle him. So going out just doesn’t feel worth it unless someone is with me or it’s round the block. Irrational and I know the answer is probably to just do it and it will get easier but I’m really struggling with the mental block!

I am in the exact same boat. I am a second time mum but I had my first 7 years ago so feel like I have totally forgotten everything and I get really anxious leaving the house even to just do the school run but I have to say, the more I do it the more it's getting easier and I think the anticipation of going out is worse than the reality as once you're out it's not that bad. Could you try to sign up to a baby massage class or baby sensory class just once a week for now and see how that goes? But know you are not alone 💕

Yes! I've only really done walks so far, the first time I popped into a shop she screamed the whole time but honestly I mainly got sympathetic looks and encouragement, I'm sure you would too. People are very forgiving with little babies ❤️ I went to a café at the weekend and the newborn at the next table was crying and it barely registered, I think it sounds so much louder when it's your own and you're stressed. Like Anita says I've booked my first baby sensory class to see how that goes as I think it's a good way to put myself out there xx

Book your self on to baby massage. It's suitable from birth, and a great beginner class for an anxious mum. You'll soon see that all the babies present cry at one time or another. No one else will touch your baby during the session as all the other mums are too focused on their own baby. and it's great for bonding and getting out in to the groups. Don't isolate yourself, it'll make you feel worse. I've been to a few groups now and the older babies scream the most.
