Loneliness

Single mum, live on my own with my LO. I’ve been finding it hard recently, not knowing what to do in the evening when my LO is asleep. What does everyone do other than watching tv, cleaning etc. looking for something different but that will keep me busy. Although I find I don’t feel like doing much can anyone else relate.

Hi, I used to feel like this. But I’ve recently set up a business doing nails. Most nights I work on my website and instagram. It’s helped me loads having something to focus on. What do you enjoy? I used to love doing Pilates on YouTube (if I had the energy). Catch up with friends on messages, do some online shopping, watch a good film or series. Pamper yourself a bit? Hot bath, paint your nails? I’ve realised I need to treat myself and enjoy all the things I love doing while lo is asleep. Even if that means just reading a book in peace. I used to feel lonely but now I actually love being with myself lol. Once you start loving it, it’s quite difficult to go back xx

I’ve definitely felt like this, I randomly just picked up a puzzle in the charity shop one day and started doing that more regularly as it doesn’t involve anything on those evenings you kinda wanna rot and not move 😂 Or I colour in a colouring book etc (pretty much influenced by my toddlers activities at this point) If you had a hobby or things you used to enjoy but just don’t do them anymore just force yourself to try it again! Another friend of mine started crochet during pregnancy and still does that of an evening!

I've recently begun my journey into studying and have discovered numerous free courses available online. It's incredibly fulfilling to have a sense of purpose and to strive towards a goal. Initially, I simply wanted to learn more about mental health, but now I'm progressing towards becoming a qualified therapist. Take a look at the available courses – you might be surprised by the range of subjects and the various career opportunities they can lead to. It's worth noting that prior to becoming a parent, I didn't consider myself to be academically inclined or interested in studying.
