@Paola thanks so much for this. I wasn’t sure if the laws changed since we left the EU regarding au pairs. And or if au pairs were allowed to care for babies of this age. Can I ask how old your LO was when you started with one? And if you came across any problems when not meeting them prior in this country for an interview etc and then them arriving and possibly it didn’t work out? Thanks so much for sharing the link, will have a look. As ideally although English speaking was thinking of prospect of Spanish & English speaking nanny Thanks again for your reply

Hi, I have a live in nanny. I had a lady coming from Zimbabwe, I paid for visa/tickets/transfer.. then £250 a week and all expenses paid for. She used to finish around 8 latest when I got back from work.. and weekends off (sometimes she worked occasionally weekend if we had something book where LO shouldn’t come and we paid little extra) Now LO is at nursery we have an other live in nanny from Italy, she is with LO 2 days a week and sometime pick up from nursery and stay with him until we get back (8ish latest) and we pay £500 pm plus expenses. Here’s a link hope it’s useful https://www.aupair.com/en/p-au-pair-cost-for-host-family.php
