What’s everyone got planned for dinner next week that your LOs will eat with you? It’s getting colder! Anyone on to the stews and casseroles?! 😂 May need some quick easy recipes! X

I've made sausage casserole and strangely she ate all the carrots whereas normally she won't touch them.

@Jess do you have a recipe you followed? Haven’t tried my little one with sausages yet x

We did slow cooker stroganoff last week which was a massive hit, doing a jerk chicken traybake tonight (minus jerk for little one as we like it v hot, just paprika, garlic, etc). Roasted broccoli pesto pasta, and orange and soy basa and noodles. As gets colder will definitely be on chilli, beef/pork stews, and pies!

I do mine in the slow cooker. I brown off the sausages. Slice potatoes into thin slices and the same with carrots. You can other veg but that's what we like. Put it all into the slow cooker cover with water and a beef stock cube. Let simmer all day and ready to serve later 😋

@Charlotte omg these all sound so dreamy 😍😍😍! I don’t have a slow cooker but stroganoff sounds like a good one! Omg we LOVE jerk chicken. I think I’ll add that for next week. Do you have a recipe or what you add to the traybake for it? What do you use for the seasoning? Do you put LOs in a separate smaller tray so it isn’t as hot? Orange and soy basa sounds incredible too. Omg can I come join your family 😂😂 x

@Jess I really need a slow cooker! I don’t have one but sounds so handy. Can you leave food on cooking from say the morning until 5ish or is that too long? X

Yes I used to do it before work so it was ready for when we got home. Slow cookers make is so easy and quick to make meals. I love doing our turkey and gammon for roasts in there. And spag bol too 😍

@Jess highly considering one atm!! Any you recommend? X

Here’s the recipe for the stroganoff and the jerk chicken :) https://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/slow_cooker_beef_10867/amp https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/jerk-chicken-pineapple-traybake We’ve not done the traybake before so I’m going to do 1-2 chicken thighs in a separate tray with the veggies for my LG. Got jerk paste for us, but for her will probably do paprika, garlic, lime and thyme, so it’s fake jerk 😂 she’s had a little heat before and liked it, and I’ll let her try some of ours later. Haha we just love cooking (and eating!)

We are all about the slow cooker meals come autumn!! My favourite is beef casserole . Other meals planned this week are creamy chicken and veg orzo, bean burgers and chips (just patty for baba) , leftover casserole into a quick pot pie with mash and probably curry.

@Nat omg amazing. Actually can’t wait to make things like this! I definitely need a slow cooker clearly too haha. What do you use for a beef casserole? X

Carrots, celery, onion and occasionally mushrooms or green beans all sliced and if I have time I fry them off first for 5m for extra flavour. Then casserole beef coated in flour and fried for 5mor so to sear it, then toss it all in the slow cooker with a litre and a half of beef stock, pepper, mixed herbs, splash of tomato purée , a bay leaf. 4 hours on high or 8 hours on slow. If it needs thickening near the end I just add some cornflour if needed. So tasty and it freezes well too.

Cottage pie is my fav cosy dinner and my girls love it too

@Abigail I’m yet to make this actually! With the colder days coming up, I definitely will! X
