Late gestational diabetes?

I just came from the midwife and my glucose tested positive and am measuring 40 weeks now at 37+5. I had a GD test at 20 something weeks and it was negative, anyone get GD late and what happened? Did you get induced early? I have another GD test to be scheduled in the next few days but just curious!

I'm literally in the same boat! I suddenly measured bigger at 38 week appointment so had a growth scan yesterday & baby is now 97th% est 8lbs 14oz already, and I'm only small 😳 had an induction booked for Friday but was told if he was big then it needed to be bought forward, but no induction slots available 🫣 asked for an elective section and also told no slots currently available for my dates so I'm stuck in limbo! Also have to have GD test tomorrow even though they came back negative before - didn't realise it could develop at this late stage potentially!

That is so frustrating! The midwife didn’t mention a growth scan but just a GD test, but I would imagine it would go hand in hand. Feel kind of nervous, as I’m sure you are about what yo expect!

@Kate yes definitely feeling a bit all over the place 😅 hope they get yours sorted out for you! x

@Gemma they have arranged for my GD test on Monday which is silly as I’ll be 39 weeks by then, but I suppose if I need an induction then it be sooner than the one at 41 weeks

@Kate I just had my results back this morning and I do have GD & 39 weeks tomorrow and still no slots available yet! Feel like I'm on an emotional rollercoaster! 😣 Can you request for them to do it earlier just so you have more time to sort things if needed? x

@Gemma oh no!!! Fingers crossed they have a cancellation or something moves up! I Imagine mine will prob be similar if I have it too as it’s peak baby season 😵‍💫

@Kate I was lucky enough to get a slot made on Wednesday for a section and had my little boy 🥰 It will all work out for you! x

@Gemma omg!!!! The biggest congratulations! I am thrilled for you. Thank you for keeping me sane going through this, fingers crossed I’ll get sorted as well! Xxx

Thank you💕 keep me updated but honestly I wouldn't worry! The diabetes didn't really affect him at all they just make sure they check baby's sugar levels before they feed the first few times! Little chunk just ended up weighing 9lb 2oz in the end! x
