My house is clean but u know what I mean 😂 will they be looking round my house ect? What should I expect? Sorry for the stupid questions, just panicking a little bit 😂 my sons old nursery didn't do a home visit. TIA

Interested to know, following... My daughter is 18 months, I will be looking for nursery soon

I had a home visit, we just sat in the dining room and they brought a box of toys and were playing and chatting to my son, while I had some papers to read through and sign. They didn’t look around 😂

I’ve had one for my eldest and from memory they didn’t go from room to room!

No they just stayed in the living room and played with him

They are not there to inspect your house, as daunting as it may seem, we had one on Monday and they stayed in the playroom with us. I have OCD when it comes to cleaning so I was worried about this too

What questions do they ask? How long do they stay? @Fatma me too, my OCD goes into over drive when people are coming round

Our one lasted about 30 mins, they ask questions like are they potty trained, do they any special interests, follow up on paperwork they need you to complete

Hi, I haven’t had one but I’m a reception teacher and I do home visits to meet my new little ones every year. You honestly do not need to scrub your house, that’s not what they’re there to see. It can just be really useful to meet the children in their own environment. We usually have two members of classroom staff and they might do the same. For us, one adult plays with the child (we bring some toys/puzzles/books) and the other adult chats to the parent to get some more info. Things like are they confident/shy, interests (good for us to know so we can have toys they might like in the setting) We check if there’s any medical issues/allergies etc. We also check levels of independence for things like going to the toilet and putting own shoes on. Obviously as it’s nursery some of this might differ but I would expect it to be similar. Please try not to worry about it. We usually stay around 20 minutes but sometimes sooner if the child doesn’t really want to interact etc

@Amy thankyou that's very helpful this has put my mind at rest 😁
